Group Visit Request Form

Important Notice

Due to the global Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, Compassion International is suspending all trips and visits to our field countries until further notice. While you may still submit a visit request for July 2021 or later, please be advised that resources for planning visits are limited as local staff are focused on providing essentials for all of the children in our program. We will hold your request in pending status until we resume normal visit planning. Compassion is continually monitoring the situation and we will contact you to begin processing your visit once normal operations have resumed.

To request a group visit, please ensure your request meets the criteria listed below, and proceed to the link at the bottom to access the request form. When we receive your request form, we will review your visit date and details.

If your date is accepted, we will send a customized visit registration link to you via email, which you will need to fill out immediately so we can begin to arrange your visit with our country staff.

  • A group visit consists of at least two Compassion sponsors who are each planning to visit a sponsored child.
  • Compassion requires a group to designate one contact person for the visit. The contact person may submit the request form below, and will be responsible for corresponding with Compassion and sharing key information with the group members.
  • Each sponsor meeting a child will be responsible for paying their own expenses. If the designated contact would prefer to pay for the group as a whole, that will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Visits are limited to a single day, averaging 2-6 hours, and are arranged Monday through Friday, during regular business hours. Exceptions may be made to allow additional weekday visit days if you sponsor multiple children in different areas, and this will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • A group visit requires a minimum of eight weeks' advance notice. However, we recognize that in some cases, sponsors may not be able to provide such advance notice. If your visit is short notice, we will be happy to review your travel information and the logistics necessary to accomplish a visit to determine if a visit can be arranged.

Making the most of your visit

Make the most of your visit. We love seeing sponsors visit their sponsored children. A smooth, trouble-free visit is always our goal.

To that end,and to protect children and safeguard against potential allegations of inappropriate conduct, the following guidelines need to be followed during all child visits:

  • A Compassion staff member or trained representative will accompany visitors at all times during an individual visit.
  • A visitor may go to a child's home for a meal or a visit, if invited, and a Compassion staff member or representative accompanies him or her.
  • Visitors may not stay overnight with children, whether in a staff member's home or elsewhere.
  • Visitors may not ask for or accept accommodations at the child development center or with the family of the sponsored child.
  • Visitors will be educated on how to be culturally sensitive in expressing affection to their sponsored child.
  • Visitors need to show respect to the children they meet. They need to avoid flirting, unwelcome flattery or making suggestive comments.
  • Visitors may not give any personal contact information to their sponsored child and will not ask for or record the sponsored child's contact information.
  • Compassion requires a criminal background check for all visitors 18 and older. When we receive your visit request, we will provide you with instructions on remitting payment of the $40 nonrefundable, non-tax-deductible fee, as well as on submitting the information to our third-party vendor, Protect My Ministry.
